The Three-Finger Rule

Rolex Jubilee BraceletDid you know that you can tell a lot about your watch by just three fingers? You can. I’ve actually touched on this subject before on my other site, Jonathan’s Diamond Buyer, about if you need too.

The three-finger rule, which I made up by the way, is to see if your bracelet is in good shape or not. Now, I didn’t make up the way to see if your watch bracelet is in good shape, but I did make up the name, the three-finger rule.

Rolex Cellini – The Rolex Watch Series

Rolex CelliniThe Rolex Cellini is often not considered a “real” Rolex, but it is just as real as the Rolex Explorer or the Rolex Submariner. The difference is that this particular line was designed as the ideal timepiece for those who have an appreciation of true artistry and it is also the first watch that was produced in large quantities that gained chronometric certification.

This Rolex collection was developed in celebration of sculptor and goldsmith Benvenuto Cellini, and although often overlooked and undervalued as part of the Rolex family, once men and women are exposed to the line, they rarely turn back because of the beauty that this line presents.

Watch Collecting – What To Look For

watch collectingI am a watch collector. I collect a few things, but I love watch collecting. There is nothing more satisfying than collecting things that go up in value. Of course, not every watch has been a good investment. Some have gone down in value. Some I have had to give away for a song because I wanted to break up with them. I can be fickle with my watches!

But, I have learned so much about what is worth the time and money and what will give the best return on the investment with it comes to watch collecting, that I thought it was time to pass on that knowledge to my readers who are either watch collectors or just starting on their journey.

Exploring the Rolex Explorer and Rolex Explorer II

Rolex ExplorerI am a Rolex freak.  I own them, I sell them, I buy them and I want to know all there is about them.  I am constantly reading everything I can about the brand, the history and the watches.  I am joining forums, participating in discussions, and other than my aquarium, I haven’t been paying attention too much else.  Yes, my wife is not so happy at the moment!

One of the Rolex watches that I am not that familiar with is the Explorer and the Explorer II, so I thought we could ‘explore’ it together!  By the way, if any of you who are reading are familiar, please leave comments!  I would love for this to become an open forum for questions, answers and chitchat!

Rolex GMT-Master and Rolex GMT-Master II

Rolex GMT-Master IIBefore I started Jonathan’s Watch Buyer, I did all my blogging about watches on Jonathan’s Diamond Buyer, and then I realized that I needed a separate ‘home’ for my watches, because my love of watches needed it’s own place to grow and blossom.  I love this new home, but if you want to read my other post about the Rolex GMT-Master II, I would love for you to go and read about it here.

I am a Rolex whore.  Can men be whores? If they can, I’m one.  I can’t figure out which one I love the most and I am constantly trying to choose between my 1680 Submariner, Rolex GMT-Master II and Explorer.  And, I am waiting on my Rolex Deepsea to arrive.  Every time Rolex comes out with a new twist on an old favorite I get so excited I kinda wet myself.  Yes, I need to pull out the depends!
