Rolex Style: Summer Submariner and Sox

Rolex StyleI have been doing a lot of thinking about this blog and site and what I want to accomplish here.  I want to buy your watches and I want to sell you watches, but what I really love is to style the watches that I am getting, and yes, I love to style my own watches.  It’s amazing what the change of a band can do paired up with a couple of awesome bracelets and some fab shoes and you have a smoking outfit!

So, I am going to start to show you how I like to style and change this from just a blog about watches to a blog about style and watches and men’s style and well just fun.

How To Afford and Buy A Rolex Watch: A Guide by Jonathan’s Watch Buyer

Rolex GMT-Master III remember the day when I bought my first Rolex.  I was going on vacation right before the 4th of July weekend, and I had saved up for this watch for months.  I had been buying and selling Rolex watches for a while and knew which one I wanted. I wanted the Submariner.  I had my eye on the perfect one and when I found it, I knew it was the watch.

Because I was out of town when it was supposed to arrive, I had it sent to the lodge where I was staying with my family.  I couldn’t sleep the night before, that’s how excited I was.  But, FedEx came and went and the watch didn’t show up.  I tracked it down to the FedEx station about 100 miles away and in my obsession to have that Rolex on my wrist, left my family and drove to the station.  No watch.  They tracked it onto a truck that was supposed to bring it to the station the following day.

I didn’t get my watch until after the holiday was over because of a series of mishaps and cluster f*cks, and even with all of that, it didn’t spoil the moment I slipped that stainless steel bracelet on my wrist and felt the weight of the Rolex on my wrist.

I feel that way every time I buy a new Rolex and I want to help you have that feeling too.

The Watch Box: Jonathan’s Watch Buyer Wants Yours

Rolex Watch BoxYou might not think much about packaging, but this is something that I spend a lot of time on.  Especially when it comes to watches.  Think about the watch box.  It’s a thing of beauty for a luxury watch.  The box is heavy and lined and plush and usually made of some type of teak wood, possibly with a shine or a supple grained leather.  The watch box usually has a hinged opening, although sometimes there is a latch and then once you get inside, there your timepiece is, sitting around a pillow that is nestled deep within the plushness of satin or suede and well protected from the elements.

And, who doesn’t love that the inner watch box comes with an outer watch box that is made of the thickest cardboard, and when you open the top, the front flap usually falls open so the main box can slide right out.  It’s so luxurious and Jonathan’s Watch Buyer wants to buy your watch box.

Chopard

Chopard – ABC of Watch Brands

ChopardAs we are working our way through the ABC of Watch Brands in the high-end arena, we have talked about A. Lange & Sohne, Breguet and now we are going to explore Chopard.  What I love about Chopard is that it is a very recognizable and unique watch and brand.  It isn’t easy to be unique in today’s market, yet Chopard has still managed to find a way to keep themselves separate from the crowd while maintaining their status as an elite timekeeper.
