Over the past twenty years, I have helped countless people purchase the luxury watch of their dreams. Just like any other luxury item, the luxury watch industry has it’s own unique network. My passion for watches has helped me navigate this network. It has also allowed me to develop my own. It is through my network…Details
I love my Panerai and I am always thinking of how to style it. I even gave it an update when I added a new band. What’s so great about the Panerai is that it really is a watch that can be worn by anyone and can go anywhere and the price point is fantastic.
So, I decided that I wanted to start a new feature called Celebrity Watch Style File, which will feature different watch brands that celebs wear, different movies that watches were worn in and what is trending in the celeb world of watches.
I could start with Rolex, but that’s too obvious, and since I have the Panerai, I thought that would be a great choice!Details
I don’t consider myself a trend maker or even a trend follower. I like to go for things that are tried and true and that I know are classics. I am a collector. But, with that being said, I do follow the trends when it comes to fashion forward sites and watch sites and I also follow the trending news stories.
In New York at the Jewelers of America Show this year, which I didn’t get to go to this year, co-founder and senior strategic adviser to The Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF), Dr. Benjamin Chavis, discussed the importance for industry members to connect with today’s global consumer through their social outreach programs. This is something that the Diamond Empowerment Fund has done beautifully and helped so many people in the process.Details
A watch brand doesn’t have to be around long to be considered luxe and fabulous, and de Grisogono has proven that. Although this brand has started off as a high end jewelry house, they have now worked their way into watches and their timepieces are cutting edge and fabulous, especially the women’s line of watches.Details
I have been doing a lot of thinking about this blog and site and what I want to accomplish here. I want to buy your watches and I want to sell you watches, but what I really love is to style the watches that I am getting, and yes, I love to style my own watches. It’s amazing what the change of a band can do paired up with a couple of awesome bracelets and some fab shoes and you have a smoking outfit!
So, I am going to start to show you how I like to style and change this from just a blog about watches to a blog about style and watches and men’s style and well just fun.Details
I remember the day when I bought my first Rolex. I was going on vacation right before the 4th of July weekend, and I had saved up for this watch for months. I had been buying and selling Rolex watches for a while and knew which one I wanted. I wanted the Submariner. I had my eye on the perfect one and when I found it, I knew it was the watch.
Because I was out of town when it was supposed to arrive, I had it sent to the lodge where I was staying with my family. I couldn’t sleep the night before, that’s how excited I was. But, FedEx came and went and the watch didn’t show up. I tracked it down to the FedEx station about 100 miles away and in my obsession to have that Rolex on my wrist, left my family and drove to the station. No watch. They tracked it onto a truck that was supposed to bring it to the station the following day.
I didn’t get my watch until after the holiday was over because of a series of mishaps and cluster f*cks, and even with all of that, it didn’t spoil the moment I slipped that stainless steel bracelet on my wrist and felt the weight of the Rolex on my wrist.
I feel that way every time I buy a new Rolex and I want to help you have that feeling too.Details
You might not think much about packaging, but this is something that I spend a lot of time on. Especially when it comes to watches. Think about the watch box. It’s a thing of beauty for a luxury watch. The box is heavy and lined and plush and usually made of some type of teak wood, possibly with a shine or a supple grained leather. The watch box usually has a hinged opening, although sometimes there is a latch and then once you get inside, there your timepiece is, sitting around a pillow that is nestled deep within the plushness of satin or suede and well protected from the elements.
And, who doesn’t love that the inner watch box comes with an outer watch box that is made of the thickest cardboard, and when you open the top, the front flap usually falls open so the main box can slide right out. It’s so luxurious and Jonathan’s Watch Buyer wants to buy your watch box.Details
As we are working our way through the ABC of Watch Brands in the high-end arena, we have talked about A. Lange & Sohne, Breguet and now we are going to explore Chopard. What I love about Chopard is that it is a very recognizable and unique watch and brand. It isn’t easy to be unique in today’s market, yet Chopard has still managed to find a way to keep themselves separate from the crowd while maintaining their status as an elite timekeeper.Details
Roger Federer might be wearing a Rolex watch and the official tennis face of Rolex and Rolex might be the official timekeeper of Wimbledon, but Roger Federer is no longer wearing that Rolex watch on the hallowed grass courts of Wimbledon in 2013.
Roger Federer was beat in the second round by the number 115-ranked Ukrainian, who up to now, no one had ever even heard of. Well, now we have, and the question I want to know is this, did Roger’s Rolex lose anytime during this 4 setter.Details
The other day I was watching this special on TV about the new catamarans that were sailing in the Americas Cup. I cant remember what channel it was on, but it was intense. These things can literally fly across the water and they are a new racing breed of boat and will just be tried out on the water in a race for the first time in the 34th Americas Cup.
This is such a big deal, because it is big bucks to build these boats, and its not just the boat makers and the computer giants and big brands that get behind these racers to make these races happen, but the high-end watches as well. Look at Rolex and yacht racing and now there is JeanRichard as the official timepiece of the classic rivalry between Oxford and Cambridge.
But, what does this have to do with The Americas Cup? Everything.Details
